• Preparation for Trial: These guidelines are for both civil and criminal cases.
• Jury Instructions:  Attorneys need not include duplicates of the instructions among those they submit but may simply designate such pattern instructions. When submitting pattern instructions, parties should offer suggestions for the “blanks” in pattern instructions which must be customized for different trials.  See, e.g., Tenth Circuit Criminal Pattern Jury Instruction No. 1.24.
• IN CIVIL MATTERS, Chief Judge Black has provided the Clerk’s Office with a copy of pattern civil instructions.  
• IN  CRIMINAL  MATTERS,  Chief Judge  Black  is  now  using  the  Tenth  Circuit  Criminal Pattern  Jury  Instructions (Thomson West 2005). These instructions are available at http://www.ca10.uscourts.gov.
